Keltic Digs

This section of RetroVenue Village suggests remnants of the Ancient Ones while using thoroughly modern materials. We have a few more photos to upload but you can start the Keltic Digs tour.

The focal beads are Polymer Clay, a relatively new art medium that creates products that are lightweight, durable, versatile, and easy to care for.

Polymer Clay is so light we recommend using “stoppers” on earring wires to prevent loss. There is nothing worse than finding that perfect pair of earrings only to have one fly away!

Asian Lady Image Transfer

Asian Lady Image Transfer

Image transfers are photos, drawings, paintings, or any design transferred to a new surface.  My transfers are usually digitized versions of the original printed with pigment ink, transferred and then sealed to add depth and protection.

Why transfer images? Because you can’t print on pendants, glass, tiles, clay, and a host of other surfaces, but images you create or capture, like the Wise Man, can be transferred and enjoyed in a whole new way.

This Asian Lady (left) was transferred onto a Domino shaped game piece over a gold shimmering background.  The technique used provides great image detail. Check out the green pin created in layers to add depth and detail.

Visit Flickr, to see the  Black Madonna - transferred onto a background of gold polymer clay to enhance the colors of the image. The technique used results in the look of an ancient icon. The view is enlarged to show detail.

Another image on RetroVenue’s Flickr photostream is the bookmark Portrait Pendant from a digitized old photograph. The image was transferred onto a beige background using liquid polymer clay to retain the vintage look.

Images can be transferred to almost any surface.  All images are unique even when duplicating a previous subject. The process takes 2-3 days to complete. Prices begin at $15-25 and vary depending on size and materials. Larger transfers are possible but must be done in smaller sections. Feel free to inquire by using the form on the Commissions & Questions page.
