Thanks to Ron Lehocky. He brought his polymer clay polisher setup to our fall retreat; set it up for everyone to see & test.
We found one for $35.00. After some trouble keeping the polishing wheel in place (It wanted to wobble and wander.) Hubby found some plastic washers. One on the outside of the wheel holds the wheel in place while the grooves keep the washer in place. Works like a dream.
The metallic clays shine in a about 2 minutes… haven’t tried pearl yet but I think all the micas would get the same results. My favorite is copper (very sad that Premo is changing it but that’s another story). Other opaque colors take longer.
Very easy set up. To test mine (see the photo) I put it inside a box so I wouldn’t kill anything when a bead flew out of my hand.

Hi! I live in Chicago. Are you selling this? If so, how much? Thanks! Gina
Oh, no you don’t! I just got this & it’s already part of the family : )
Search for “bench polishing machine” and they come up with a variety of prices.
Here’s some info on all kinds of buffing & polishing tools from Desiree’s Desired Creations: http://desiredcreations.com/howTo_TLBuffing.htm
I read all of that before getting this one.
Beadbunny has a similar one on her site (scroll down to see it … I love her trout!) http://beadbunny.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
She says she got “Foredom bench lathe from Donna Kato’s Prairiecraft.com polymer clay supply site”
Hope this helps you!
